Car Alarms: car alarms and ignition, valet mode, car alarms

Question
excalbour 2000 car alarm installed on a 89 buick century. the problem here is that we had a deep freeze here in buffalo last night and now the car alarm goes off every time I try to start the car. I would like to just disconnect it for the mean time.  would that be a good idea? if so how the hell do I do it? or is there  a bettter way of dealing with the situation?

Answer
Place it into valet mode untill the hard freeze
is done.

You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
Then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. Or some Excaliburs have the over ride
switch in the LED housing.

When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode
