Car Alarms: car alarm, battery problem, charging system

Question
Hi
I have been having battery problem for about 2 months now. my car has a after market alarm on it, and my alarm stated going on, on its own while i was driving the locks would go on and off. It finally drained my battery and i took it to my mechanic and he disarmed my alarm. My battery was working fine again till 2 days ago when i started my car in the morning and the battery was completely drained. I've put a new battery in, thinking it was cause it was minus 20 out and the battery was almost drained from last time i got a new battery on it, but when i started my car today, it took 2 tries to get it started and while i was driving the locks started going on and off again. can this be that some how the alarm wasn't disarmed properly and its somehow reconnected it self?
please help!

Answer
Yes it can be the fault of an open circuit relay,
or an improper connection.
I suggest the installer of the after market piece
evaluate it, and also have the car's own charging system
looked at as well. Batteries take some time to drain unless
a high amerage charge is draining it rapidly.

I would look into the last idea first though as it
would explain the other, and the locks issue too.

Tell me what you discover.

Good luck.
