Car Alarms: Crime Stopper CS2000 Series II, valet mode, alarmtek

Question
This alarm was installed on my 1992 Honda Civic by a hole-in-the wall business that is not there anymore.  Although the alarm seems to arm and disarm, it doesn't make any sound (lights flash and the red light blinks just like it always did.  Should I look for a place to repair, or do I need to get a whole new alarm?

Answer
Start with the siren.
Can you "panic" the siren?

If not, either
1. bad siren. replace it.

2. If already in Valet mode, it will allow the car
to start and operate like there was no alarm at all.

To try to go out of over ride (valet),
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 2 times. The alarm should
go back into user mode.

You would repeat the steps to go back into
valet mode if desired.

Try it, Let me know if
this helped.
