Car Alarms: Remote starter, dodge avenger, remote starter

Question
I just bought a 95 dodge avenger with a sidewinder alarm system. Well my problem is when I remote start the car it will start and run for a few seconds and shut off, but it won't try to start again. Also the starter stays engaged when the car starts like that.
