Car Alarms: Brake lights will not turn off., light fuse, lightning storm

Question
I have a 1999 honda civic ex. I bought it with a viper alarm with remote start. I don't know the model number. About 2 weeks ago during a thunder and lightning storm I notice that my remote start would not work amd the brake lights were stuck on. I have already ruled out the brake switch and a open circuit by a master auto tech certified in electronics. When I remove the interior light fuse the brake lights go off and the remote start works. When I replace the fuse the brake lights turn on then the remote start does not work. Also when the fuse is out the remote start works, but I cannot get the car out of park to drive. When I put the fuse back I can get the automatic handle out park and drive it. Please help!!!!

Answer
No sorry, I don't install the DEI product
line so I can't speak to that.

The DEI piece must be done
by a qualified dealer or you have NO warranty.
Plus, it is not "do it yourself friendly" to quote
DEI directly.

Try www.directed.com and ask them how
to get out of this predicament.

The best thing here is to
keep asking these questions at DEI
to the answers you want.

You can also try my forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
one of the installers there
maight help in some way.

Good luck with it.
