Car Alarms: 94 security system, passlock, pke

My 1994 corvette starts sometimes..then sometimes doesn,t. I have narrowed down to the security system. How do I disable the system. so that I don,t have to do a $3000 dealer replacement. thxs

Tell me what they said it is?
If it's the VATS/Passlock, then you can take
it into someone who specializes in that.
Can get pricey :(

If it's a factory alarm,
normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
green (-) in either kick or PKE mod,
The PKE (passive keyless entry) module
is located behind the center of the
instrument cluster.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

I hope this makes it easier/cheaper.
