Car Alarms: Ungo security system, electrical actuators, bmw dealer

Question
Evidently I have an Ungo security system installed in a BMW I recently purchased second-hand.  I had some work done on the car the other day that necessitated unhooking the battery for about 5 minutes.  Afterwards, I was able to operate the door lock/unlock feature during the day.  I parked the car, locked the doors by pressing down the door lock by hand and left it for the night in the driveway.  Today, I try to unlock the car using the remote and get a blinking light in the remote but no reaction from the electrical door actuators to actually unlock the doors.  Furthermore, I cannot even unlock the doors manually using the key as the actuators appear to be holding them in the locked position.  I've replaced the battery in the remote so I know that isn't the problem and short of breaking a window in the car to unlock the door, I'm not quite sure as to what my next action should be beyond calling a locksmith (who may not be able to over-ride the electrical actuators controlling the locks).

Answer
It sounds as if it is the factory deadbolt system.  This problem would more than likely necessitate a trip to a BMW dealer for repair.  The Ungo system only performs the same function as pressing the lock and unlock switch in the vehicle so I do not believe that is where the problem is.
Make an appoint at the service dept, and tow it
over for the tech to reset the locks.

Oh, you may want to re think busting a 320.00 door window. Very pricey!

I hope this helps.

Good luck.
