Car Alarms: CHECK MATE AFTERMARKET ALARM, alarmtek, home alarms
QuestionI have a Checkmate aftermarket alarm fcc id# JT3KT7A on a used Hyundai. I want to disable the passive arming - the car automatically locks whether keys are in it or not. I went to remotes unlimited but could not find the remote. I've searched the web but only see sales of remotes - I just need to know how to go to active arming. Thanks for your help - ALARMTEK e-mailed me how to look up the number on the back of the remote and suggested remotesunlimited, but I still can not find an answer. I appreciate your time.
AnswerI wish I could be of assistance. What you need is the manual for the system, this would explain how to change the system options whether it be through a programming menu or dip switches. Without having that manual there is no way to say for sure how to change settings if they are even changeable. I did a search for checkmate alarms and I only came up with a company that sells home alarms and then the links to the autotechs/remotesunlimited sites that sell replacement remotes. This leads me to believe that the manufacturer is no longer in business. I know this is of no real help and for that I apologize. I would suggest posting this question to www.the12volt.com/installbay in the proper forum. If there is any resource on the internet that would be able to offer any assistance at all that would be the place.
