Car Alarms: car security system, car security system, car locks

I have a 1997 Honda Civic that I purchased about 6 years ago used. It came with a security system that locks/unlocks the doors and starts the car. ( I am sure you are very fimiliar with this) My problem is that not all my car locks unlock when I press the button, just the drivers side.  I have tried to disengage the system by turning the key and pressing the button under the dash. However it doesn't seem to disengage it.  Is there something I am doing wrong?  Can you offer any helpful hints?  I am probably better to have it removed but intil I have a chance I would like to hear your advice. Thank you!!

  Please try that sequence again

Key in and turned all the way forward,
just before cranking, then press and hold the button in for up to 6 seconds.
When you get a response from the lights, and the siren,
You have either gone into, or out of valet overide.

If this does not happen, then yes, get that
alarm out of your car. It'll be nothing but a nusense
if not.
