Car Alarms: What type of alarm do I have?, brain box, gmc suburban

I bought a 1993 GMC Suburban K1500. It seems to have an alarm. How do I find out if it is factory or aftermarket? It does have a alarm speaker horn in the engine compartment & a LED light in the dash. What do I need to look for? I don't see any name anywhere.

There is no factory alarm for this truck, so yes
it is an after market alarm.

If trying to identify it, either drop
the panel under the steering column, and
locate the brain box, or best suggestion at
this point, is to replace it with one you
are sure of. It's capabilities, and how
to control them.

Makes for a better, more secure experience.
