Question -
I have a '99 Dodge Caravan. I do not know if the kill switch was factory installed.  It has a small 1/4" thick black chip which I pass by a black rod attached to the bottom of the steering column to disable the kill switch.  The LED goes off and I can start the car.  I lost it.  How can I disable it?  Can it be replaced?
Answer -
No sorry about that. These "immobilizer" chip systems are
great to a point. This is the point. Once you loose
a key, you can not replace it easilly. It is aftermarket, and to that end, you would have to ID the system, locate the company that sold it, and get a same series key to
replace it. Very difficult indeed.

Best suggestion is to have it removed,
and replace with a good alarm and keyless system with starter kill.

But again, you will have to remove it unless the dealer
can tell you where to get the replacements.

Good luck with it.

FOLLOW-UP QUESTION: Is there a way to disable it without removing it?  Grounding it or disconnecting it from starter?

Answer
No sorry, that's not going to work this time.
You need to take it off the starter wire in the ignition column
to disable it unless you have the key (s)
No other way around that I am afraid.

I sell the wiring data charts for this work
at www.vehiclewires.com

Good luck.
