Car Alarms: 1998 Mercury Mountaineer Add-on Alarm, fcc id number, mercury mountaineer

Question
Hi, I am still trying to identify the manufacturer of the alarm that the original purchaser of this auto had installed. This in addition to the factory alarm system. I cannot seem to find anyone in this area who is knowledgeable. I have discovered another feature that might help to identify the system. In addition to the push button that I found at the bottom edge of the dash, I find that the dash mounted LED also functions as a push button and flashes three times when pressed. I hope this gives some clue to the company who manufactured the system as it seems to be a unique feature. Do you have any idea where I might find the add-on alarm system and if it will have the manufacturers name on it if I find it? I really need to contact the manufacturer in order to obtain a copy of his instructions. It appears from NY DMV records that the system was installed about Dec. 2000. Thanks, Bob

Answer
This usually means either Code Alarm, or
Clifford. They were the only ones that
used the combibnation LED/programing switch
that I am aware of. (Leaning toward Code)
