Car Alarms: honda factory alarm for 2002 honda cr-v ex, honda motor company, honda cr v

Question
i just had a security system installed by my honda dealer in my 2002 cr-v ex model.  the system was a genuine honda factory system. i was disappointed to find out that there is no way of getting an audible confirmation upon arming and disarming the system. i know that the horn does sound upon pressing the lock buton twice.  is there any way of getting an audible confirmation(ie: horn) to be present upon arming/disarming the system?  can a different remote be used or maybe another system integrated with this factory system?  i like the features of this system and what it does but was disappointed to find that it did not have this feature.

i have talked to my honda dealer and to even the honda motor company with no luck.  they told me that this was the way the system was set up and that nothing could be done.  can you help me?

please reply

thanks

Answer
Well, asking the Honda folks would get you
that reaction. LOL. Easiest answer is to add
an aftermarket system that would do what
that one does and alot more.

You would of course get the 6 tone siren to confirm,
or use an the horn honk output that is found on
select aftermarket systems, to honk the car's horn
instead of the siren.

That's how I would go. Get paging, remote start etc...
and put the Civic remotes in a drawer.

If you want me to help you select the proper system
for your needs, let me know what features you
want, and I'll show you what's possible.
