Car Alarms: What motion switch do car alarms use?, microwave generators, alarmtek

Question
Hello,
I need a very sensitive motion sensor for a project I'm working on (portable equipment alarm). What component do car alarms use? I'd like it to be omnidirectional if possible. Is there anything surface-mount, or are these all through-hole?

Answer
Hello,
12 volt sensors are mini microwave generators.
Anything that move in the zone would trigger, but
the application used must be 12 volt in nature.

They are black boxes with potetiameters to
turn up and down for sensitivity levels.

I carry 2 types, both detect motion/movement.
One is a single zone, instant tigger and 1 is a dual
zone that is adjustable. But as I said, these are
designed for 180 degree scan. and for car alarms.

It may not work on the project you are
doing, but it might if you are using
a 12volt source and have a device that
will notify/act when the motion sensor is
breached.

To get one, go to www.12VOLTPLANET.com

I hope this helped.
