Car Alarms: How do I disconnect an alarm, valet mode, brain box

Question
I recenyly purchased a used car (1996 Honda Accord) with a Pursuit Alarm. I dont know if it was dealer instaled. The previous owner lost the clicker controls for the alarm. I have one key for the car. The car was sitting for about 6 months, so I bought a new battery to install in the car. Whwn I try to hook up the battery,
, the alarm activates and shuts down the ignition so I cannot start the car. There are 2 toggle switches under the dash for the alarm, but turning them off does nothing. Can you help?

Answer
Ok try this:
turn on the ignition key, then flip one of the
switches in the oposite direction, then turn off key.

If the LED in the dashboard comes on solid, then
you have succeeded in getting into valet mode.
Your car should start up now. Just repeat the steps
above to go back into alarm mode.

If this does not work, then try the other switch.

If still nothing, then you will need to fish
out the brain box under the dash and unplug
it from all harnesses. Then start over with an
alarm you know and understand from the beginning.

It will make for a safer and more understandable
security system.

Good luck with it.
