Car Alarms: BCM control of lights/locks + Commando starter/keyless entry, pontiac trans sport, keyless entry system

Question
Hello again,

Thanks again for your quick response to my last question; I have another one for you regarding the same installation of a Commando EZ-2500 remote start/keyless entry system in my 97 Pontiac Trans Sport (w/ OEM keyless entry & no alarm).

I'm trying to determine what pulse is sent to which wire when I press either lock or unlock on my OEM keyfob. I want to retain all of the functions and programmability that the BCM does to the lights and locks, such as: domelight on for 60 secs when unlocking w/ keyfob, domelight off when locking with keyfob, delayed locking (last door closed), driver's door priority, etc.  I know the Commando system has an output for activating the domelights, but I don't want to use it (it only turns them on w/ unlock; it doesn't do any of the "advanced" stuff I mentioned above - and I wouldn't expect it to)

So, my question to you is this: When I use my OEM keyfob, where specifically does the "unlock" or "lock" pulse go so that the BCM can, in turn, turn domelights on/off, check if doors are open, delay locking, etc?   I am pretty sure it is just a plain old (-) pulse on the lock/unlock wire that triggers this, but am hoping you can tell me for sure.  Let me clarify that I'm not trying to reverse-engineer the BCM, as I know its not cheap, and is fairly sensitive to power fluctuations and whatnot...I just want to know how it gets that darn signal from the keyfob...

In other words: I just want the van to "see" the same lock or unlock pulse that it does w/ the OEM keyfob - will connecting the (-) lock/unlock wires from the Commando to the lt blue & white (-) lock/unlock wires @ the BCM or kick panel do the trick?

Sorry for the lengthy question, but I figured better safe than sorry when it comes to the details!

Thanks so much for your help!
Bryan

Answer
No idea what the OEM system does. I don't do
that here. Just aftermarket systems.
If you are looking for support on the
Commando piece, you'll need to contact them for
that. I don't sell or support it here but I can
tell you that you should not use the factory remote anylonger or it would conflict.
Contact ryan at ryan@slickcar.com for some
further help on they're system.

Good luck with it.
