Car Stereos: Dead car radio, vw jetta, dead car

I have a 2002 VW Jetta and the original factory installed radio just died yesterday.  There's no sound, no display, no nothing. It was working fine on my way to the store. When i got in my car to go home, the radio never came on.  What do you think?

Hi Elaine,

First thing to check is the fuse.  It's the easy one.  It should be on the side of the dash visible when you open the driver's door.

If that doesn't do it, then you might be looking at a dead unit.  Replacements can be had on eBay for cheap, or you can get an aftermarket replacement that will sound even better for probably less money.
