Car Stereos: Sub not working right., 5 mins, impedance

ok well here is what happened i hoooked up my amp and sub power ground everything checked continuity on the sub before anything it was working fine. made a beep with the meter and everything i hooked it up and got it to beat i drove around for about 3-5 mins turned and when i was almost to school it made a wierd noise for a couple of seconds then suddenly just stopped working any ideas?

Hi Alex,

That could be any number of things.

First I would check to make sure you didn't blow a fuse.

Then, test to make sure you're still getting 12V to the amp, and 12V from the remote wire.

Then, test the impedance on the sub.  If it's not to spec anymore, you may have blown it.

If all that checks out, you may have fried your amp.
