Car Stereos: car stero installed, honda civic dx, 1996 honda civic dx

I installed an aftermarket car stereo/cd player with i-pod hook-up. It all worked, except now the radio won't play, cd player and ipod hook-up work well. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same problem. The radio goes on as soon as I shut car off the radio goes out. This was installed in a 1996 Honda Civic DX. Can you help me? Have I done something wrong, or do I need to buy something that I should have bought also when I purchased the aftermarket one?

Esther,  There may be a couple problems.  I would suggest that the antenna is not properly plugged in, or doesn't have the proper adapter to hook it to the new radio.  Without an antenna, the radio will not play.  If that seems to be hooked up properly, The ipod adapter may be having a negative affect on the stereo software.  The easiest way to check that is to unplug the ipod adapter and try the radio.  I am guessing it is the antenna.  Hope this helps, Scott
