Car Stereos: cd player install problem, sony xplod cd player, infinity gold

after installing a sony xplod cd player in my 96 grand cherokee i have no sound from any speakers. there is an infinity gold series internal amp and i think that may be the problem. how do i solve this problem?

Hi Willy,

You do have to activate the factory amplifier to get the sound to work in this system.  This is done by connecting the factory amp activation wire, in the factory radio plug.  The factory wire color should be dark green with a red stripe; if you're using an adapter harness, the harness wire is usually blue.  This wire needs to be connected to the blue/white wire from the Sony deck.  This should activate the amplifier, and get your sound working.
