Car Stereos: streo wont turn on and clock dim and not keeping time, keeping time, clock

i installed a new head unit,,wire it up and worked fine. i went to put it into the dash and now it wont turn on and the power light is dim,,also the clock keeps saying 1:00 i am wondering what could be wrong?

Hi Fred,

The likely scenario is that a wire connection has come loose and isn't working anymore.  Simply pull it back out, and check the wires to find the loose/disconnected one, and reconnect it.

I recommend making the connections with a good solder joint and then heat shrinking over that.  They can handle a little abuse without coming apart that way.
