Car Stereos: Tweeters, midranges, and woofers up front, side kick panel, emergency brake lever

Question
Front speakers installation in kick panels.  7"x10" speaker holes behind kick panels.  Drivers side kick panel has an emergency brake lever that travels about 2" in front of the kick panel.  Am I limited to using a component speaker in the kick panel- tweeter with midrange, and find somewhere else for woofers up front?  Is there a single full-range speaker with a tweeter that angles at 45° in the middle?

Answer
Carl, 2" is plenty of room to mount a full-range speaker in the kick panel.  I would think a 6x9 or 6.5" round would  fit in that spot.  If you want a little better sound quality, buy a set of component speakers.  Mount the woofers in the kick panels and the tweeters up on the dash or A pillars to direct the highs where you can hear them.  There really is not going to be any good tweeter sounds coming from the kick panel area no matter how the tweets are faced.  Hope this helps, Scott
