Car Stereos: Replace powered sub + amp, pontiac g5, pioneer system

Question
Same problem. My Pontiac G5 came with a 7 speaker pioneer system. Its great but I want to put in my own amp and sub to give it more kick. How can I replace the built in powered sub and amp? And I cannot find the amp...behind the sub maybe?

Answer
Hi Vito,

I haven't had a chance to deal with the G5 yet as they're too new.

That said, the amplifier is almost always either mounted behind the glove box, under one of the front seats, or mounted in the trunk on the roof.

The easiest thing to do would be to use high level inputs to a converter or an amp that can take high level inputs, tap into speaker wires, run them to the converter/amp, and you're good to go.
