Car Stereos: Infinity sound system 2004 dodge durango, infinity systems, infinity sound

I recently bought a 2004 dodge durango, and the sound system only plays out of 3 speakers( driver side door speaker and tweeter,and passenger side tweeter.)They also sound like they are blown Could you tell me how to open up this system to fully evaluate the head unit and the speakers.

Ok first check the speakers see if they are blown, see if one of your friend has a Volt Metter and borrow it or run to walt-mart and get yourself a Volt metter (they are very useful i dont think you would be wasting your money) ask one of the ppl that works there if it has an Ohm option so you can check whats the resistence on your speakers.

go home and take one of the door panels off, take the speaker off, then put the metter on the Ohm position put the red. wire on the (+) lead of the spear and the black wire on the (-) lead of the speaker you should get a reading and it should be around 2ohms (infinity systems = 2ohm speakers). If you Do Not get any readings then that speaker its blown. thats how "We, I" evaluate those speakers. now i dont really think its gonna be the head unit.
Does it have an aftermarket radio?.

i would think it would be some kind of connection problem if it does, if it has the factory radio still it could be some damage on the amplifiers (since your speakers run of factory amplifiers) or maybe a totally blown speaker and its shorting out an amp.

i hope this helps, man infinity systems are not that easy to troubleshoot you really need to get into it to figure out wats wrong.
