Auto Racing: Nostalgia, chase chevrolet, autocross tires

Question
More of a comment. I really enjoyed your response to tr6 autocross tires. Took me back. My sister and I autocrossed a TR3a in the '60s. When the engine went south we talked to Bob Tulius about what to consider. He suggest a 2.2 kit, port, polish and match manifolds but advised against the D cam for a mainly street car. We contracted for all the machine work, line bore, 0 gr balance etc. but had intended to do final assembly ourselves but when push came to shove we really wanted it to be perfect and talked  Gordon Tatum into doing the build up. Finished with over 125 bhp at flywheel. Added an electric od for a real 7 speed very close ratio and it was quite a potent package. So many fond memories of Bob, Gordon and also Pierre Mione. In real life Pierre was a muralist and he painted a race scape of Marboro raceway in the Corvette showroom of Chevy Chase Chevrolet where I worked at the time. I was looking for pictures of that era on Google and found Gordon, Pierre and Roger Penske at VIR in '59! ...but none of Bob. Hope he is enjoying life in Sebring. Really great time but then came Vietnam. All of a sudden it was 1969 and you really can't go home again. Oh, well. Thanks for jogging the memory box.

Answer
Thanks for  the comments, I was lucky enough to meet Bob Tulius a few times. He's spoken at our Annual Awards Banquets twice now. And I took a picture of me at age 20 in my TR-3 over for him to autograph for me. I've had it enlarged to about 32 X 48, and framed. It graces my media room wall.
It's the only autograph I believe I've ever collected.

Glad to bring mamories for you !
