Auto Racing: 50/50 weight ratio, american muscle cars, mazda rx8

Hi:

 For car Honda s2000, Mazda rx8 and BMW 5 series. From what i have read all this car are 50/50 weight ratio or something. I would like to know what is that mean?

  A 50/50 weight ratio means that under acceleration there is equal weight distributed to the front and rear of the car.  Think of the old American muscle cars, for example.  You had 350+hp cars running high 14 second quarter mile passes.  Why?  Because they had huge engines weighing down their front ends and reducing their front to back weight ratio meaning they got less traction in the rear which resulted in poor quarter mile times. A 50/50 weight ratio also means a car is generally well balanced.  It can handle and hook up well in a straight line all the same.  Hope this helps.
