NASCAR Racing: NASCAR Drive, juan pablo montoya, quarter midgets

Question
Hi,

Firstly thanks a lot for your reply.

How have the present drivers gone up the ladder to get picked up in NASCAR series? Where do I find more info about that?

Is Busch series kinda like a step below NASCAR Nextel and once you shine in Busch series, do you move upto NEXTEL Cup series???

Thanks again.

-----Question-----
How would a aspiring racing driver aim to get to race NASCAR one day. What sort of driving levels or classes of racing one must go through before having a shot at the NASCAR series and ultimately the NEXTEL CUP championship races? And what will be costs involved approx. Thanks.
-----Answer-----
It's hard to say, because it can be done countless ways. Starting very young is pretty much a must now though, most good drivers start when they are 5 or even younger. Cart racing and quarter midgets are usually a good thing to look into as a start.
Series to aim for when trying to get to NASCAR specifically are any stock car based circuits. USAR Pro Cup and ARCA are really good places to get discovered.
The cost is hard to know, and I've never really looked into that part of it, but it is a lot.

Answer
Honestly, it varies from driver to driver, so you'd really need to check thier biographical information, each driver's website should offer that information.

Yes, the Busch Series issomewhat of a stepping stone, though not all drivers go there before hitting Nextel Cup. Some drivers use the truck series, like Carl Edwards, and others can come from completely unrelated series, like Juan pablo Montoya will do next year.
