BMW Repair: How do I turn on the radio?, preset buttons, radio code

I just bought a 1985 535Is.  I have a radio code, but how do I use it to turn on the radio.  I was given 2 #s.  One is a letter plus #s, the next is #and 5 numbers.  WE may have other questions for you as well.  Thanks., Berry

enter the 5 numbers using the radio preset buttons. If you hear a beep before finished, then start over. If it does not take the code then you are in code safe mode and you need to leave the radio powered one for one hour without touching any buttons.
