BMW Repair: 1997 528i traction control light, front wheel bearings, wheel speed

Question
A while ago my traction control light (amber) came one and has remained on.  The car has 110k miles on it and I just replaced both front wheel bearings, both front wheel speed sensors were dirty so I cleaned them off.  I though this could be the cause of the traction control light.  My question is can a front wheel speed sensor cause the traction control light to come one, or only a read speed sensor failure?  Does the light clear itself when the fault goes away or does it need to be reset?

Answer
Kevin, a faulty wheel speed sensor can cause a traction control light. The faults should be read out and fault cleared and retested. The faults don't clear themselves. Any wheel speed sensor can cause a Light. The fault my not even be with a wheel speed sensor. Be sure to ask for a copy of your fault print outs.
