BMW Repair: Central locking BMW 525se auto, jumper cable, open doors

I left my lights on overnight, battery flat, can't open doors. Boot will unlock. How do I get in?

I have answered this one before.  You didn't say the year model.  This is what the factory says.  I know I did it once with my daughter's 525I 1990, and I think this is what I did as well.  Hope it helps.


1. Insert the master key into the front right door.
2. Pull up the door handle.
3. Turn the key counterclockwise to emergency unlock position 1.
4. Open the door.
5. Close doors and turn the right front door lock to the synchronize position 5.

You can also get underneath the car and put a jumper cable on the hot wire of the stater and ground the other wire to give it enough power to open the door.  Whichever works.  Good luck.
