BMW Repair: Bmw 328i 1997, happy fathers day, vent valve

Question
My car is acting weird i start it up yesterday morning and i notice my check engine light is on. Then when it cools off its having a hard time to start and when it starts it has the whoosing sound then goes away when it warms up.. this is my first car and i dont know what to do or where to go pls help.. tnx and happy fathers day

Aaron, you need to have the faults read out of the engine computer to see what fault is stored. The whoosing sound maybe a fault crankcase vent valve (BMW's fancy PCV valve). Hard to say. Have the intake ducting checked for tears. Hope you had a good fathers day aswell. If you turn the oil cap and just barely crack it open does the noise change?
