yesterday i hit a curb which in turn ripped off my plastic liner on the left, i figured out that that where the air tempature sensor was but problem is i dont see any of the wires anywhere? question is where do the wires lead from that connect to the outside air temp sensor. Also a few times lately i had 3 light go on at one, abs, brake, and traction control, they will go off after driving somewhere once or twice but i am wondering what is causing these light to go on and off. thanks

Answer
Rich, tell the BMW counter persons you need the front wheel well housing cover, screws, clips, Outside temp sensor probe, Wiring, and Connector kit. If the front counter persons doesn't seem to know what you are refering to please ask for a back counter person that helps the Techs. He will know what you want. You will have to find where the temp sensor wiring ripped off. You will need to solder and heat shrink the new wires and install the connector. Please avoid using but-connectors. As far as the three lights it sounds like a steering angle sensor intermittenly faulty. You need to have the faults read out of the vehicle to confirm this. In your case I would schedule a Service appointment at your BMW dealer to have the faults read out and get a hardcopy of the diagnostic report. They will give you a quote on the fender liner and from there you can decide whether to do the work yourself or have the shop do it. They will also alert you to other potential problems. Does your air conditioning work with the temp sensor broken?
