BMW Repair: Fuse Repeated Blows, andrew black, fuel level

Question
My 1987 325 keeps blowing the 7.5 fuse controling the fuel
level, the rpm's, and the engine temp. Additionally, a week ago
the car would start, idle and could hold at whatever rpm I gassed
it to, but then would stop running after about 4 seconds.
Miraculously, it started up again 15 minutes later and has not
done it again since.  It was after this incident that the fuse
started repeatedly blowing.  Any connection between the 2
issues?  Can I simply remedy the fuse issue by using a stronger
fuse or is this an electrical problem now? Thanks for your input-

Answer
Fuses blow because the power supply in that circuit is grounding out.You need to check the circuits involved, look for wires rubbing against metal or wires that are touching bare wires.Don't put in a larger fuse as this will cause the circuit that is grounded to overload and the system will start to burn.
Check the wires to the fuel level by removing the seat and you'll see the wires. This I think will be where you'll find your problem.
