BMW Repair: air conditioner, auto parts stores, stop leak

Question
Hello, I have a 1995 325I.
Recently I was told that I need a new condenser for the a/c-- cost about$1200.  I opted for the "stop leak" product because I do not want to put that much money in the vehicle.  How well does the "stop leak" product work and will I be able to charge up the a/c myself if it begins to blow warm again?  Also, what would I need to purchase if I wanted to charge up the a/c myself?
And finally, how do you charge up the a/c?

Answer
the stop leak isn't really a good product as it can clog vital parts of the a/c system and is considered doing more harm than good. you can charge it yourself. most auto parts stores that are near me sell packages that allow you to charge the a/c yourself. it is very simple. just follow the instructions on the box. if you can't find it, you'll have to take it somewhere to be charged.
