BMW Repair: Fuel Injection, intake manifold gasket, vacuum leaks

Question
I recently put a intake manifold gasket on my 1989 325i. The vehicle idles fine but will not rev up now.....Any suggestions?

Answer
My guess is you forgot to plug something in or the gaskets are leaking.  The best way to test for a leaking intake manifold is to get some propane and release the gas along the gasket area, if you have a leak, the hole in the intake will suck the propane into the engine causeing the idle to increase.  you can also use starter fluid but it tends to puddle and kill people when it ignites.  Should your car pass this test, start checking for things that were left unplugged and vacuum leaks, go over everything you touched to be sure it is how it was when you started.
Other than that I'd haveto see it plugged into an ignition scope and a 5 gas analizer to properly deduce whats causeing this.
