GMC Repair: AC Blower/Fan Problem, gmc sierra, splice sleeves

Question
I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 WT standard package. The fan speed switch for the AC works when it is on level 1 through 4 and the fan speed increases properly as I increase, but when I  reach max level 5, the fan turns off and I hear it make a click noise in the fan area under the dash on the passengers side when i go from 4 to 5. Do you know what this could be? Can you please help me? Thank You, Chris

Answer
Hi
It sounds like the Blower resistor AND blower resistor harness pigtail connector.
Here are the part #'s
15862656  Connector - Resistor Blower Motor (includes splice sleeves)
89019088 Resistor -- Blower Motor (Fullsize Truck/Utility)89019089 Resistor -- Blower Motor (Fullsize Truck/Utility)
You'll only need one of the resistors, they list 2 in service info.
It is ALL located under the passenger side RIGHT next to the blower motor under golve box.
Do 1 wire at a time, slow and steady and you'll have no problems to DIY.
Parts should cost no more than $150.00 total.
Good Luck
