Question -
1995 Corvette with LT1 300HP motor with aluminum heads. Got car in Jan 05 with no work history on it at all, and no way of finding any past work history. I just want to install new spark plugs, after reading the section on "ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND" on the threads of spark plugs in my repair manual I'm SCARED STIFF to attempt to remove the old ones. ANY SUGGESTIONS
Answer -
Anti-Seize compound is only a paste that you put on the threads when you INSTALL spark plugs to prevent the spark plugs from rusting in the cylinder heads. Just make sure you put nEW paste on the new plugs when you install them.
FOLLOW UP QUESTION: Thanks for answer, but my concern is NOT knowing if any Anti-seize was used on the plugs in the car now. Any tips or suggestions for me when I try to remove the old plugs?

Answer
Buy an aerosol can of RUST BUSTER and spray it on the spark plugs and let it soak into the threaded area of the cylinders for about an hour and slowmly loosen and tighten each plug a little bit at a time until you feel them coming out nice and easy.
