GMC Repair: no go, onoway alberta, gmc 4x4

Question
My problem is my 1993 GMC 4X4 5.7L  automatic transmission truck has had a problem  for 2 weeks now. Drove it to work. Parked it came out one hour later would not start. Yes it has fuel, brand new battery. Left it for the day went back 6 hrs later and it fired up. left it for 4 days drove it all weekend no problem. Drove it to work Monday, no problems for about two hours. Parked in front of patients home, came out no go. Left it for 5 hrs. came back fired up. Next day drove it, parked in garage and tried to start it again, it turned over but I slipped off the key so immediatly tried again. dead. There is no noise at all when the key is turned. Engine doesn't try to crank at all. I check battery connections all the under dash fuses.  Any suggestions? Wondering about shorts in the steering column as my wipers work erracticly.

HELP PLEASE

Answer
What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a wire connection may have come loose.

Look around in the area where work was performed.

What you need to do is to have the single PURPLE wire loacted on the "S" terminal of the starter solenoid post tested for battery voltage as you attempt to start the vehicle.

If you DO have battery voltage at this wire while trying to start the vehicle this would indicate either a fault in the stater solenoid or an internal problem in the starter.

let me know IF you have battery voltage per the above test procedure.
