GMC Repair: ac, autohelp, c components

Question
My 1992 GMC ckpickup I punch the ac button and the ac lihgt blinks for a minute thins goes off. the comprosser does not start. Ive check the fuses. there is no power to the comprosser. weve tried doing the bywirepaper trick and that didnt work.I was told i need a new ac control panel.

Answer
You need to make sure that you have the proper amount of refrigerant in the A/C system BEFORE you go replacing the control panel. Most likely you are either LOW on refrigerant due to a leaking hose, O-Ring, or other component leaking within the A/C system.

When the refrigerant gets to low due to a refrigerant leak the system is designed NOT to operate so as to protect the A/C components from being damaged due to a refrigerant leak.

Test and verify the correct amonu of refrigerant within the system FIRST.
