Acura Repair: 96 acura 3.2TL, cold air intake, rain storm

Question
My little brother was caught by a heavy rain storm, he ended up getting water in threw his air intake. His car cut out. After he restarted it, it started knocking.  The car has lost some power. We replace the plugs and it helped a bit. We changed the oil, and added Lucas additive, that also help a bit.  I did not see any mixed water with oil, or metal savings. So what do you think the problem(s) could be? thanks

Answer
The engine is flooded and to fix this issue you would need to rebuild the motor. Your probably using a cold air intake located close to the wheels, remove it as it will give you nothing but problems, I recommend an Ice Box instead. Check the intake manifold for any moister build up. The knocking is a very bad sign as the valve may be hitting the cylinder and like I said may need to be rebuild.

Good luck,
Daniel
