Alfa Romeo Repair: Alfa 164 s -Shocks and electrical issues, avon tires, alfa 164

Question
Hello. I just bought this car and plan to restore it completely eventually, but in the meantime...I 'd like to replace my rear (and eventuelly my front) shocks. Are there realistically priced substitutes for the adjustable ones that go for 250$ a piece ? Also I have a few electrical worries, the nost important ones (with winter coming ) are that that blower (heater) fan won't work and none of the heated seat work either. Any Ideas ? Thanks

Answer
With shocks and tires you really do get what you pay for. Since you want to keep it awhile then good handling should be a primary consideration--go for the Koni's and Pirelli or Avon tires.

With most Italian cars the first place to go for electrical problems are the connectors and plugs. Look for signs of heat on the plugs and the wires. Also, renew the grounds (clean them good).
