American Motors: 70 amx ignition wiring, neutral safety switch, starter solenoid

I am confused with the wiring diagram in the service manual. There are two yellow wires together that goes to the starter solenoid. Also a yellow wire with a pink resistance wire that has a push type cap on the end. I have a factory tach setup. Do all 4 of these wires get attached to the starter solenoid? the book is confusing as they say with a tach to leave unplugged, which do you leave unplugged?????

Your starter relay has 4 terminals. Two large ones and two smaller ones next to each other.
The smaller ones are marked "I" & "S".
There is a wire that runs from the "I" terminal to the "+" side of the tach. The "-" side of the tach then goes to the "+" side of the coil (blue); and sometimes a wire that runs from the "I" terminal to the ignition switch.
The "S" terminal goes to the ignition switch, after going to the neutral safety switch, if you have an automatic. This wire is hot ONLY when the igntion switch is in the "START" position.
The two wires connected together (a pink one and a yellow one) is NOT connected to the solenoid, according to the diagram.
