American Motors: 1959 Rambler American, competent mechanic, rust free

Question
I'm looking for a newer donor engine and transmission for a 1959 Rambler American Super.  Absolutely rust free, and I'd like it to be my daily driver.  Not looking to rat rod it, just an appropriate powertrain for it's size.  thanks.

Answer
I don't know how much work you want to do. You can use a drivetrain from a Gremlin, Hornet, Concord, etc. That would include engine, transmission, driveshaft & rear end. Your car does not lend itself to upgrade modifications without a lot of work. You could always find a competent mechanic to overhaul your present engine.
