Audio Systems: Recorded cd will not play on car player, laser diode, car player

Question
I have a JVC XL-R5000BK recorder/player.  Using Audio cd's to record off the radio, per the players instruction booklet, I cannot get the recorded cd's to play on my car player.  It looks as if the car player sees the cd but will not play it.  Any ideas?

Answer
It is not unusual for this.  Many cd players, especially if they are older models, will not play some of the recorded cds.  Especially, if the cd is mp3 format, your car player may not support this format at all.

The car player may, also, be getting old and be suffering from a weak laser diode in the optical pickup.  This makes it harder to read a recorded cd.

So, try the CDR in other players to make sure it was recorded properly.  If you are sure it is a good disc then you may have to upgrade the car player.
