Audio Systems: 4 8ohm speakers to a single channel, 8 ohm speakers, parallel configuration

Question
i need to know how i can wire 4 8 ohm speakers to a single left and right channel with two volume controlls in the mix. the impedance must = 8ohms,i'm connecting to a russ sound whole house audio system and its only 6zones and 8ohm stable.  basically i don't want to buy another whole house system and do not want to use a speaker selector, just the russ sound system with the volume controlls

Answer
If the speakers are all of the same type and are getting distributed power from an amplifier channel/s, then use a series parallel configuration (ohms law formula), to connect them. If they are of different types having different efficiencies, then you want to look into a low impedance matching device (ie: Optimatch volume transformers and/or Niles or Sonance output switch or transformer connected to your amplifier/s.
