Audio Systems: Amps and subs, dual bandpass, bandpass box

Question
I have 2 10" sony explode 1100watt subwoofers, and a 2/1 channel sony explode 1000watt amp. The only problem is that the amp doesnt pump enough for both subs when there plugged in.  How much higher do i need to go to make the sound have decent quality, cause when i have both plugged in they sound muffled.  There in a dual bandpass box

Answer
That may be the problem. Did the subs come with the bandpass or not.

Some subs can perform poorly in a bandpass if they weren't designed for them.

Ideally you want to match the RMS power handling of the subs with the RMA power output of the amp per channel.

Also, do you have the gain set right?

The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp to prevent clipping (damage by over powering).

Here is a guide that will help you set the gain correctly http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php?file=6d26c621

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

If you don't have Exce, let me know.
