Audio Systems: Mercury/ford truck factory radio swap, ford f 250, clock timer

Question
Kelly, I have a radio from a mercury that I installed in my 92 ford f-250. This radio had no clock. So we changed the face with the original truck radio which provided a clock, fits perfect works fine but the clock power is cut with the ign switch and has too be reset each time I startup. It appears that something in radio has too be cut to seperate the digital readout and the clock timer and a jumper to the timer installed to maintain time when the ign is off. Can you help? thankyou for your time and service

Answer
The problem is in the harness on the rear of the radio. If there is no memory power wire, you will have to add one. This should be easy, just separate the memory wire and ignition wire, they are probably tied together now. This link will help;
