Audio Systems: In-Line fuse for my audio system, dual voice coils, dual voice coil

Question
QUESTION: I have a Soundstream 600 watt amplifier installed in my vehicle with a 50 amp inline fuse installed with 4 gauge power wire and the ground wire is 8 gauge (The amplifier has 3 20 amp fuses in the side of it). I have this amp bridged to one 15" Treo SSX Subwoofer (2500 watts RMS). When I turn the volume up either my in-line fuse blows or the fuses in the amplifier itself blow. But only when I turn it up so loud. So what do I need to do?

ANSWER: The current draw is, obviously, exceeding the fuse ratings.  You must keep the level down so as not to blow the fuses.

Questions:
ONE: What is the impedance rating of the Treo sub?  I am not familiar with this unit.  I think it comes in either 2 or 4 ohms dual voice coils. If you have it wired in parallel and it is a 2 ohm impedance you may be drawing lots more current than you thought.
TWO:  You might try increasing the fuse ratings a little, but doing so may endanger there safety.  Have you tried going up a little?  But, go back to question ONE and make sure you are not putting an overload on the amp with the dual voice coils.

Let me know if you have further thoughts.

QUESTION: Ok I went up a little on the fuse sizes, but the amp gets extremely hot in a short amount of time. Oh yea my Subwoofer is a 2 Ohm Dual Voice Coil Sub and I have both negatives connected to each other and both positives connected to each other, then I have a wire running from one side to my amp. How should i have this hooked up?
Thanks

Answer
Better check the wiring.  It should not heat up so much unless you are driving it hard with heavy music.

You have the speaker wired in parallel - which is only ONE ohm. I think that is too low for the amplifier.  Do these two things:

ONE:  Change the VC to series connection.  connect plus on one to minus on the other; amp to the other empty terminals.  Try it.

TWO:  Double check the wiring to make sure you don't have a short to ground or some such thing.

Good Luck,
