I was trying to install an RCA adaptor into my 2005 Taurus and we cut a few of the wires behind the head unit only to find out the speakers wires are in the back.  Well when we tried to hook back up the wires the cd player will not turn on at all.  We checked the fuses and two were blown which got replaced but it still will not turn on.  Is there a reset or somethign special that needs to be done to get it back on or is the entire cd player shot.

no there is no reset the only thing you can do is remove the power of the rcu unit in the trunk for 5 minutes   if that don't work you need to replace it it is burn
