Audio Systems: Visonik 300 watt 10sub pkg, fuse panel, battery circuit

Question
I too purchased a Wal Mart Visonik 300 watt sub package and installed it in a motorhome.  I found a convenient place under the fold out couch right next to the electrical panel to mount the amp.  I hooked up the power to the fuse panel (12 volt) as there was several blank spaces in the panel and all worked fine until I hooked up the shore power (120V) which also powers the 12 volt inverter that keeps the motorhome battery charged.  I immediately heard a strong 60 Hz hum in the sub followed by a pop as the fuse blew.  Should I not hook the amp to this battery circuit and instead, only hook it to the vehicle battery circuit?  Is the inverter power not clean enough to allow proper operation?

Thanks,
Terry

Answer
yeah, sound like the charger for your battery is a pretty dirty dc.  this would cause what you're experiencing.  if you can tap closer to the battery it may help, or a capacitor may help as well since caps filter out noise.

good luck and let me know if I can be of any other help.
